Evomon Riding Guide — Every Evomon Is Now a Mount

Last updated: 2026-07-10 · Riding update live

Quick Answer

Since July 10, 2026, every Evomon can be ridden — not just your battle partner, and not just Legendaries. Mounts fly across open skies, cross wide ground, and climb rugged valleys, and you can ride together with friends on any island.

What the July 10 Update Changed

Before this update, riding was a perk reserved for a handful of mount-capable Legendaries — an endgame collection goal. The July 10, 2026 update removes that restriction entirely:

  • Every Evomon can be ridden — all 108 species in the Dex, from starter lines to fusions to Legendaries
  • Not just your battle partner — any Evomon you own can serve as your ride
  • Full traversal — flying across open skies, crossing wide ground, climbing rugged valleys
  • Every island — riding works across the open-world map, not a limited zone
  • Multiplayer — ride alongside friends on their own mounts
Collection just got more useful: catches you benched for battle reasons now have travel value. A fast flyer or a strong climber earns a team slot for exploration sessions even if it never fights.

Traversal Types: Fly, Run, Climb

The update showcases three traversal styles. Which one your Evomon uses follows its body type and element, so it pays to keep a small "travel roster" alongside your battle team.

TraversalBest forExamples of use
FlyingCrossing islands' open skies, skipping rough terrainReaching high ledges, scouting chest locations from above
GroundFast travel across wide, flat stretchesVerdant Valley loops, boss re-runs, spawn-zone circuits while hunting
ClimbingRugged valleys and vertical terrainLava Crack cliffs, mountain routes that used to require long detours

Exact speed values and per-species traversal assignments haven't been published yet — we'll update this table as the community tests more of the Dex.

How Riding Changes Exploration

  1. Chest routes get faster — hidden chest circuits from the beginner guide and maps page take a fraction of the time on a mount.
  2. Shiny hunting circuits speed up — more encounters per hour means more shiny rolls. Pair a ground mount with the spawn-zone loops in the shiny guide.
  3. Expedition material runs improve — crossing expedition zones for EvoLab fusion materials is quicker with a flyer. See the evolution guide.
  4. Vertical terrain opens up — climbing mounts turn valley walls from obstacles into shortcuts.

Riding With Friends

The update supports group riding — each player on their own mount, exploring the same island together. Natural fits:

  • Pre-dungeon warmups — travel to dungeon entrances as a group instead of meeting at a portal. See dungeon timing.
  • Guided tours for new players — veterans can lead friends through chest routes and boss locations far faster than on foot.
  • Collection showcases — Shiny and Sparkle mounts are now visible in motion, adding flex value to rare variants.
